As human beings, we are composed of an immortal soul and a corporeal body. Just as God, a spiritual being, is a knower and a doer, man too shares in that nature because our souls have been endowed by God with an intellect (to know) and a free will (to do). The thirst for man to "know the truth" never ceases in this life because our journey for the truth only ends when we come face to face at last with TRUTH personified in Jesus Christ.
As such, our journey to know our faith does not really end. We continue to desire to know more about the faith because only when we possess more knowledge of one thing, can we truly love that thing. One cannot love what one does not know. In order for us to deepen our love for God, we need to know Him more, starting with those things that He has revealed to us.
Our parish will strive to offer opportunities for our parishioners to learn more about their faith. These mini-series of talks hope to impart the rich intellectual tradition of the Church to our faithful members so that they can gain more appreciation of the things that our faith has taught us over the years.
The first scheduled series is coming this Spring 2019:
A line-up of future topics include:
Theology of the Body and Catholic Sexual Morality Introduction to the Liturgy of the Hours Social Teachings of the Catholic Church The Spiritual Life Angels and Demons Typology in Sacred Scriptures
